Put on the armour of the law. Nothing like being prepared to do battle in the justice system with a briefcase or head full of “weapons and shields”. This Session will present the latest in weaponry and shields including a search across Canada for “talented” cases many which are not reported and often without transcripts – at least yet. Prosecuting animal cruelty and often related domestic violence and violent cases require good law to make good law. This Session will focus on:

1. What are some of the latest cases in Animal Abuse and Violence Link and how they can be used by the different stakeholders.
2. Understanding the Violence Link through the latest cases and how to use these cases to influence just outcomes in respect to laying charges, release conditions, prosecuting animal abuse and violent matters to sentencing.
3. Looking at some of the latest cases in combination with the law on animal abuse and the violence link and what is the impact and direction of stakeholders involved in Animal Abuse and the Violence Link.

This will be a practical Session to enlighten all and get people thinking where we are going with Animal Abuse and the Violence Link law.
