Speaker Bio
Olivia Justason is the Deputy Chief Animal Protection Officer with the New Brunswick SPCA. She joined the NBSPCA in 2011 after experience with the RCMP in northern Alberta. Her love of animals and childhood dream of being a veterinarian influenced her decision to use her law enforcement training in the field of animal protection. Olivia primarily conducts investigations concerning dogs, cats, and horses, but avidly works towards legislation improvements, the welfare and legislation of the upcoming exotic industry, training her fellow animal protection officers, and is passionate about the education and awareness of the link between animal cruelty and domestic violence. When she isn't working as an animal protection officer, Olivia enjoys volunteering for her local animal shelter, spending time with family and with her two dogs.
