Kathy Duncan has worked in the Animal Care, Control and Welfare field for over 30 years in Ontario. She has worked as an Animal Control Officer, Agent/Inspector and Manager in Operations and Investigations for Humane Societies, the Ontario SPCA, and municipalities. She has been a member of the Municipal Law Enforcement Officer’s Association of Ontario for almost 20 years and a member of the Association of Animal Shelter Administrators of Ontario for almost 30 years. Kathy has been a member of the board of directors with the Association of Animal Shelter Administrators of Ontario for 17 years, 12 of those she served as President/Chair of the Board. Kathy has been actively involved in various provincial working groups including the Animal Welfare Task Force over the course of her career. She is a member of Humane Canada’s Violence Link Coalition and recently participated as the Theme Lead for the Community-based Sheltering theme for the 2021 National Animal Welfare Conference. She is also an International Ambassador for the Humane Animal Support Services Project and is passionate about bringing improvements to animal sheltering and animal welfare whenever possible.
