Credited as a pioneer in the unique field of animal law, Victoria Shroff is one of the first and longest serving animal law practitioners in Canada and the longest serving animal law practitioner in British Columbia.

Victoria has practiced animal law in downtown Vancouver at Shroff & Associates for over 20 years and has been teaching animal law at UBC's Allard School of Law since 2016. Victoria helped spearhead Canada's first Animal Law Pro Bono Clinic (ALPC) with Law Students' Legal Advice Program (LSLAP) to foster access to justice for animals and humans. Victoria chairs the Canadian Animal Law Study Group. Her practice and education of animal law has garnered significant media attention. Recognized for her unique contributions as an animal lawyer-educator, she's been a finalist for Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers in Canada multiple times, given a prestigious SEEDS award by ISAR, current finalist for the Women of Distinction Award 2021, winner of Hitachi Excellence Award. Victoria collaborates with groups in USA, Europe and Asia on animal law issues. Victoria mentors, and also founded and runs her own animal law and social literacy program in elementary schools called 'Paws of Empathy' which she teaches with dogs.
