Building a more humane country relies on active advocacy at all levels of society – local, provincial, federal and international. For centuries humane societies and SPCAs have advocated on behalf of animals – seeking to influence welfare and protection decisions within political, economic, and social institutions while inspiring and supporting individuals to speak up for themselves and animals. Interestingly, there are varying interpretations and a broad range of tactics, tools and approaches within the application of animal welfare advocacy and public engagement. Join a group of successful animal advocates for a panel discussion on their organizational approach to animal advocacy, preferred tactics or tools, what works and what doesn’t and how we can build our collective advocacy as a movement.
