Woven into this session is the two-pillar structure of the Humane Education program at CHS, and how it is contributing to the One Welfare concept of social interconnections between humans, animals, and the environment. As Humane Educators, we have always emphasized these relationships as we actively inspire the next generation of compassionate animal advocates to build empathy, make ethical decisions, and gain an appreciation for all living things.

The speakers will address some important lessons learned about running successful programming that reaches over 10,000 youth annually in the Calgary area, how they look forward to the changing world of Humane Education, and how they plan to continue being leaders in this field. They will also discuss the changing landscape for Humane Education, and present the initiatives that CHS’ Humane Education team is working on for the future.
