About the National Animal Welfare Conference (NAWC)

The National Animal Welfare Conference is a MUST attend event if you are involved in animal welfare. It has been the biggest and best-attended animal welfare conference in Canada since 2014. In 2021 we are expecting to welcome over 1000 attendees online from across Canada and abroad.

The conference is an annual professional development and community-building event organized by Humane Canada™, the federation of humane societies and SPCAs.

An online conference format helps you save on travel and accommodation costs, and it allows you to expand your network by meeting and connecting with more people from the animal welfare sector than ever before. Moreover, all sessions will be available in the online conference platform for 3 months post conference. Re-watch your favourite sessions at your own pace and on your own time.

The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically changed the way we do business, and the animal welfare sector is no exception. On top of hosting NAWC in the spring of 2021, Humane Canada™ is also hosting a mini event on December 15, 2020 to discuss topics related to mental health. To learn more please click here.

Humane Canada™ understands the financial challenges brought on by COVID-19. In order to make this online conference affordable and inclusive for everyone, we have significantly lowered the conference registration fees.

Moreover, when you attend this online event you are also saving on accommodation and travel costs.
Special registration fees are available for Humane Canada™ members, associates and students. To find out if your organization is a Humane Canada™ member click here. To find out if your organization is a Humane Canada™ associate click here.
