Melissa Moggy is the Extension and Research Specialist for Alberta Farm Animal Care and also consults with other organizations. She completed her Animal Science degree in 2009 from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College and her DVM in 2013 from the Atlantic Veterinary College. Since then she completed an internship at the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine and her Master's at the University of Calgary. Research and animal welfare has always been a big part of Melissa's career. She focuses on quantitative and qualitative research, followed by extension activities, as she believes that no amount of research is worth its weight without education and training to implement what is learned. She lives in Calgary, AB with her husband, two dogs, and one very spoiled cat.
