Date & Time

Description

Our collective vision is a humane Canada. But what does that look like, and how do we know we are making progress toward that goal? In order to answer these questions, Humane Canada™ has devised a detailed conception of what a humane country looks like. From there, a series of indicators has been developed that will help the animal advocacy movement measure how we are progressing toward the vision, reflecting a diversity of issues that affect different groups of animals. While these indicators are not exhaustive and may not cover every single animal welfare concern, they are a way for us to assess the impact of Canadian society’s legal system, policies and behaviours on animals.

Key Learnings :

1. The process used to develop the indicators.
2. An understanding of the concrete changes needed to create a humane country.
3. A humane Canada is achievable, and there is a framework to help us get there.
