Donna Watson - Elliott is a manager, counselor, and educator. She is currently the Manager of the Ottawa Police Service Victim Support Team where she has worked for the past 25 years. In addition to the unit’s daily responsibilities Ms. Watson-Elliott is responsible for working with the City of Ottawa’s Emergency Management Unit to coordinate Psychosocial responses to community disasters and mass incidents. Ms. Watson - Elliott has 29 years crisis and trauma counseling experience working with victims of crime and tragic circumstances. She has worked extensively with victims /survivors of violence.

Ms. Watson - Elliott completed her Graduate degree from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Education with a concentration in counseling. She also possesses an Honors in Social Work from Carleton University and an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Ottawa. She is currently working towards her Graduate Certificate in Emergency Management at Algonquin College.

Ms. Watson - Elliott provides training in the areas of Crisis Intervention, Trauma, Psychological First Aid and Suicide Intervention. Most recently delivering training with Justice Partners on Trauma and Violence Informed Practices and Collective Impact: Collaborating to Deliver Services to Victims/Survivors. Ms. Watson – Elliott is a Master Suicide Intervention Trainer for Living Works, Calgary Alberta.

She is currently on the Board of Directors for St. Joe’s Women’s Center. Ms. Watson – Elliott was a former member of the Board of Directors for Ottawa Victim Services, Canadian Parents of Murdered Children and 211 Ottawa.

Ms. Watson-Elliott is a very proud secondary Handler for K9 West the units Facility Dog.
