Liza Sunley has a diverse background in non-profit leadership. Prior to being appointed as the Chief Executive Officer at the Edmonton Humane Society (EHS), Liza was the Chief Operating Officer at Bissell Centre. There, she oversaw all programs and services, social enterprise, and data analysis and research for the inner city non-profit supporting people living in poverty. She was also Executive Director at Lurana Shelter Society, a local refuge providing safety for women and children who are victims of domestic violence, including a shelter, trauma counselling, a child care centre and outreach programs.

At EHS, Liza leads a team of dedicated professionals that work to enrich the lives of people and companion animals through animal sheltering, programs and services, and community engagement. Liza was thrilled to join EHS where she blends her non-profit leadership experience with her love of animals.
